Senior, Sociology, Social Work & Psychology

Echo Mann

Social Work major Echo Mann has extensive experience caring for seniors, working as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) in a nursing facility over the past 17 years. She is completing courses online and learning on the job skills through her rewarding practicum.

Lane Boucher

One of the best things he has done in his time as a Pointer is get involved in undergraduate research. Lane Boucher enjoys the camaraderie he has built through those research experiences. Learn more about this biology pre-medicine major!

Senior, Chemistry and Dance

Isabel Bauer

Chemistry major Isabel Bauer is a full-time summer research assistant. She had the chance to shadow with a number of chemistry and biology research project teams before committing to working with Dr. Joe Mondloch in his chemistry lab, experimenting with PFAS adsorption. She said she is inspired to use her Chemistry-ACS degree to continue exploring questions in a research setting.

Senior, Political Science

Drew Olejnik

The chance to lead the Student Legal Society and connect with other pre-law students was crucial to his success in the law school application process. Drew Olejnik also shared how political science courses at UWSP gave students the chance to engage in legal case work. The close-knit department gave him invaluable guidance.

Abby Paulsen

The wide variety of English programs was a motivating factor for choosing to enroll at UW-Stevens Point. Meet double major Abby Paulsen who is using her voice to empower others.

Junior, CIS: App Development and Support

Owen Marrick

Although undecided on a major initially, Owen Marrick said he’s made strong connections in the Department of Computing and New Media Technologies. Planning and practice helped him land his first paid position in the computing field with the Sentry co-op.

Morgen Garlieb

Morgen Garlieb knew she was more comfortable with a smaller campus. Initially undecided, she is hoping to support museum and historical work. Garlieb says the classes she has had at UWSP give her a great window into what that work will look like.

Matthew Dzwonkowski

Language study is a hobby for senior Matthew Dzwonkowski. In the past two years at the UW-Stevens Point main campus, he said his courses have helped him toward his goal of understanding people across all cultures.

Sophomore, Pre-Engineering/German

Sophie McArthur

Meet a student who is pursuing a double major and study abroad in Germany! Sophie McArthur says her professors at UWSP have provided her with support and career guidance and taken a genuine interest in her future.

Junior, Social Work

Jason Zant

His determination to work in social work began during his deployment in the U.S. Army Reserve. Through UWSP’s flexible online program, Jason Zant remains focused on serving others after he graduates. Learn how he hopes to turn his experiences into a career of helping others.

Jackson Carter

Meet a senior psychology student who has his sights set on a career in neuroscience. This fall, Jackson Carter will present findings from his work in mice genotyping and electron microscopy in faculty-mentored research.

Lillie Salzman

Double major Lillie Salzman has an impressive academic record, with a 4.0 GPA on every College of Letters and Science Dean’s List in her time at UWSP. She credits her responsive professors and small class sizes. Now she’s gaining on-the-job training in the actuary field.

Being a first-generation college student making a transfer to UWSP. It could have set her goals back. But, Lizeth Reyes has thrived in finding a connected community. She is excited to make an impact globally!

Chloe Dettmers

Senior Chloe Dettmers was honored for her success in the biology major with a College of Letters and Science Distinguished Student Achievement Award. This year she will lead the Pre-Vet Club as student president. She has thrived working in animal research to prepare for her future career plans.

Zoe Boyd

Zoe Boyd developed her own support network when she began her Pointer journey. What she would tell an incoming student is how crucial it is to stay on top of course assignments and engage in class discussions. In her experience, faculty are invested in your success and willing to work with you to help students manage their coursework.

Junior, Geospatial Sciences

Sabrina Hendry

Transfer student Sabrina Hendry is president of the Geo Club, where she connects with other geospatial science majors and builds leadership skills. She enjoys that the industry can allow her a good balance between working in the field and time in the office organizing data into useful mapping tools.

Destiny Lloyd

From her political science and pre-law course work to an internship working within the court system, senior Destiny Lloyd credits the support of advisers and professors for helping to navigate her path to law school!

Senior, Biochemistry and Pre-Pharmacy

Dylan Francis

Dylan will graduate in December 2024, earning his biochemistry major with a pre-pharmacy concentration. He values his experiences working in undergraduate research and the opportunity to get to know his professors.

Carmen Morgan

Carmen Morgan is a double major in psychology and philosophy, as well as a peer adviser for the Academic and Career Advising Center (ACAC). She actively engages in research. Her passion is in understanding others.

Senior, Psychology: Human Services

Jenna Somers

Jenna is a non-traditional student from Iola. She just completed two internships shadowing different counselors. She works as a peer coach in the TLC and enjoys meeting and supporting people from all walks of life.
