Frank and Kathleen Haeni

UW-Stevens Point alumni Frank and Kathleen Haeni spent their careers as educators. They are both ’70 biology graduates. Their generosity and dedication to UWSP dates back to 1989 when they began to build on a lasting legacy of student scholarship support.

Frank and Kathie are driven to make UWSP a better place to learn and live, and for providing inspiration for others to follow. Their generosity has bolstered endowments supporting faculty-mentored undergraduate research, the College of Letters and Science Undergraduate Research Symposium, and the Olson Museum of Natural History. To date, over 70 students have received scholarships with the support of the Haenis.

In the spring of 2025, the Haenis were honored with the dedication of the Haeni Chemistry Biology Building.

Paying it Forward

Great friends of UWSP, 1970 alumni Frank and Kathie have established scholarship endowments in biology, forestry, history, and wildlife. Much of their life’s work has been aimed at “paying it forward,” a phrase they commonly use, through their work in the classroom and their generosity to UWSP. The Haenis have stayed true to their life’s work of paying it forward and have shown tremendous kindness to UWSP dating back to 1989.
