Academic Programs

As an accounting student at UW-Stevens Point, you will learn the skills necessary to be professionally licensed as a certified public accountant (CPA), certified management accountant (CMA), or certified internal auditor (CIA). In addition, you will develop a mix of analytical and decision-making skills to illustrate an organization’s financial status and inform business strategies.

The Acting Program offers a comprehensive, conservatory training in stage and screen acting for the students interested in a performance career.

The School of Education offers a program for physical education teachers who wish to complete the Wisconsin 860 Add-On Certification in Adapted Physical Education. The program consists of a total of 13 credit hours* including coursework and practicum.

Our BFA in Art is called the Integrative Studio Arts degree because it allows you to integrate classes in multiple disciplines. This professional degree requires 78 credits within the major, yet it is all about the creative direction YOU want to take. To start with you take a solid core of art studios and then get to choose classes that pique your interest—such as performance, lighting or costume design, video, or sound production. The astronomy minor at UWSP complements any science major. Students can earn the minor in six courses.

The athletic training master's degree program is committed to serving students seeking national certification in athletic training. The MS-AT program will strive to incorporate effective teaching strategies, hands-on learning, the latest technologies, and mentorship to prepare students to excel as athletic training professionals.

Basic Second Language Proficiency Certificate allows students to reach a basic proficiency level in a second language and to gain understanding of the cultural context related to the people where this second language is spoken.

Program participants acquire abilities to teach content both in English and another language (either Spanish or Hmong). You will only be awarded the certificate if you successfully complete the English as a Second Language Minor with K-12 Teacher Certification. The Bilingual-Bicultural Education Certificate is only a few additional credits to acquire. It is administered by the Department of World Languages and Literatures.

Pursuit of a biochemistry degree will allow students to explain life processes in terms of molecular structure and chemical reactions within living cells. This interdisciplinary major has a chemistry-based curriculum, coupled with a significant biology component.

In pursuing a biology degree, you will learn how life develops, functions and changes. Learn how you can build a biological sciences career in fields such as education, private industry, government programs and medicine.

The biology minor will supplement another major with a solid background in biology.  It consists of a minimum of 22 credits as described below:
