Biology Minor

Minor

The biology minor will supplement another major with a solid background in biology.  It consists of a minimum of 22 credits as described below:

  1. Complete BIOL 110 and 111 – Option 1 (5 credits each)
    or Complete BIOL 101, 130 or 160 (5 credits each) – Option 2
        
  2. Fulfill ALL of required:
              a. BIOL 210 or BIOL 305 (3 credits)
              b. BIOL 302, 314, 351, 381 or 385 (6-8 credits)
  3. Electives: Select remaining credits from courses accepted as electives in the Biology (BS) major to reach a minimum of 22 credits (no more than 8 credits of 200-level courses can count toward the requirement; some restrictions regarding 200-level and 300-level courses of the same topic may apply, see individual course descriptions).

    Students should consult with Biology Department faculty when selecting courses required to fulfill the minor.
