Enrollment and Attendance
If you decide to drop a class, use accesSPoint or contact the Office of the Registrar. Your enrollment affects tuition, financial aid, and veterans benefits.
- During the first eight days of a 16‑week term, instructors take attendance. You are responsible for dropping any classes you are not attending to avoid financial charges.
- If you enroll in a course but cannot attend the first class meetings, you must receive permission from the department. Without approval, you may be required to drop the course.
Missing Class
Notify your instructor in advance when you need to miss class. In emergencies when you cannot reach your instructor, email or call, 715-346-2611, the Dean of Students Office.
- Instructors will provide reasonable opportunities to make up work missed due to illness, emergencies, or university‑approved travel such as athletic, music, or academic trips. Arrange planned absences ahead of time.
- Excessive absences without communication may result in dismissal from the course (grade of F) or from the University (F in all classes).
Financial Aid Requirements
Financial aid regulations require that you begin attendance/academic activity in all courses tied to:
- Federal Pell Grants
- Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grants
For Direct Loans, you must attend at least one class for your loan to disburse. Failure to attend may result in repayment of aid already disbursed.
Military Service Absences
You will not be penalized for absences due to required military obligations or VA medical appointments (up to two weeks unless the instructor grants additional time). Notify instructors as early as possible and provide documentation to the Dean of Students Office.
- Instructors must provide reasonable accommodations for missed work.
- For active‑duty deployment, refer to Military Call‑Up Instructions for Students.
