UW-Stevens Point
Why choose the School of Education at UW-Stevens Point?
For many students, the idea of becoming a teacher is more than just a career choice–it is a calling. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point was founded in 1894 as the Stevens Point Normal School, whose primary purpose was to prepare future teachers. Today, teacher preparation remains an integral part of our mission and we continue to be at the forefront of innovation in our field.

Field Experiences
Our programs provide students with frequent opportunities for hands-on learning in K-12 classrooms. Beginning with practicum experiences all the way through student teaching, our teacher candidates are able to practice and refine their knowledge and skills under the supervision and guidance of cooperating teachers and our own faculty who have dedicated their careers to education and a lifetime of student learning.
