Proactive, Resourceful, Connected, Caring
College of Professional Studies

Students of the UW-Stevens Point College of Professional Studies (CPS) are trained as professionals in business, education or health-related fields, and are attuned to the college’s values of being proactive, resourceful, connected and caring. Whether pursuing a degree in nursing, early childhood education, business or another of our professional disciplines, our students continually develop skills in and out of the classroom that prepare them to make a positive and lasting impact on the world in which they live and work. Our goal is to develop leaders who are prepared to combat the most pressing and critical issues that plague our society.

Why choose the College of Professional Studies?

Pre-professional majors require students to work a semester or longer actually on the job in an apprentice role, where they are graded by both university faculty and the practitioners under whom they work. This culminating experience is called different things by different majors: student teaching, internship, externship or clinical experiences. Our students achieve acceptance into prestigious internships at a rate higher than the national average.
