Our Students
Currently, over 1,300 full-time undergraduate students are enrolled in our teacher preparation programs. Our undergraduate students are known on campus and in the Stevens Point community as being academically engaged, highly motivated and actively involved. In addition, over 400 graduate students are enrolled in our online programs.

What teaching majors and minors are available at UWSP?
UWSP offers a breadth of teaching majors and minors. It is important to make sure the campus you attend offers the specific program in which you are interested.
What kind of opportunities exist for involvement?
The School of Education is home to five, top-notch student organizations – Aspiring Educators, Association for the Education of Young Children, Kappa Delta Pi, Student Council for Exceptional Children, and SHAPER-Students for Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Club. These organizations have won numerous state and national awards and offer plenty of opportunities to get involved throughout your college experience. In addition to the five organizations housed in the School of Education, UWSP is home to over 200 other student organizations. Can I start at a campus closer to home and then transfer to UWSP?
Yes. We are happy to work with any student interested in attending UWSP’s School of Education. Due to the complexity of teacher certification, we recommend that you carefully read the Transfer/Re-entry portion of our website and contact an advisor in the School of Education every semester prior to transferring to ensure a seamless transfer experience.
Can I apply to the Professional Education Program before I transfer to UWSP?
Yes. Transfer and re-entry students meeting PEP Admission Requirements are strongly encouraged to apply to the Professional Education Program PRIOR to transferring.
What are the application deadlines to apply to the Professional Education Program?
Applications for the Professional Education Program are only processed twice a year. The deadline to apply for Fall admission is September 22. The deadline to apply for Spring admission is February 22. Applications are due the Friday BEFORE the deadline if the 22nd falls on a Saturday or Sunday.
What are the application requirements for UWSP’s Professional Education Program?
