IN DEMAND LANGUAGE DEGREES

Students with teacher certification in foreign languages are expected to enjoy excellent placement rates during the next 10 years as language teachers, especially in Spanish are in high demand.

ALUMNI TO KNOW

History, Religious Studies

Waukesha Police Specialist ’12 Alumna Sonia (Sunny) Schneider said her undergraduate experience taught her strategies of listening, bracketing her biases, and responding with empathy. These interpersonal skills are tools she relies on when she engages with community members in her law enforcement career. Schneider said she found something greater than herself in her time at UWSP, graduating in 2012. “I think liberal arts programs produce people who can do that ‘big picture’ thinking,” Schneider said.
