Partnering with the Academic and Career Advising Center (ACAC) brings your vision into focus. Our staff members provide effective academic and career advising services and resources. Our work directly supports academic programs and assists students in realizing their potential, achieving educational goals, and making successful transitions through college and into careers.

We are excited for every Pointer to embark on an engaged, fulfilling journey at UWSP and beyond.

disability resource center (DRC)

Identify, design, and implement an academic accommodation plan

VISIT THE DRC

The Disability Resource Center (DRC) supports accommodations, assistive technology, and auxiliary services for students with disabilities, working individually with qualified students to create a plan for success.

Some examples of disabilities include:

  • ADD/ADHD
  • Autism 
  • Traumatic Brain Injuries
  • Systemic Health (examples: diabetes, Crohn’s/IBS, migraines, pollution illnesses, seizures)
  • Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Learning Disabilities (examples: dyslexia, processing disorders)
  • Psychological Health (examples: anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar, OCD)
  • Physical Conditions (examples: Arthritis, Cerebral Palsy)
  • Temporary Conditions (examples: concussions, broken limbs, surgery recovery)
  • Blind/Visually Impaired

In 2022, the DRC adopted its current name, but Pointer graduates and returning students may remember us as the Disability and Assistive Technology Center (DATC) or Disability Services.

tutoring-learning center (TLC)

Find student support programs and services across all disciplines

VISIT THE TLC

The Tutoring-Learning Center (TLC) offers services, programming, and courses that support student academic excellence across all disciplines in an inclusive environment. Tutors, in cooperation with faculty and staff, provide peer-to-peer assistance through individual and small group collaboration.

Some examples of services include:

  • Reading & Writing Tutoring
  • Tech Essentials Tutoring
