Schmeeckle Reserve
UW-Stevens Point’s Natural Campus

A community natural area on the campus of UW-Stevens Point

Schmeeckle Reserve is a 280-acre natural area on the campus of UW-Stevens Point. Over 70% of Stevens Point’s main campus area has been set aside as green space to protect ecological communities of central Wisconsin. It is open to the public and serves as a unique gathering place for the community and university. Explore 5 miles of trails and boardwalks, a 24-acre lake, and a diversity of habitats that support numerous wildlife species.

The Reserve is managed by the College of Natural Resources to protect and restore ecosystems, serve as an outdoor classroom for learning, and provide outdoor recreation opportunities.
