Welcome to the Department of Philosophy

The Department of Philosophy, housing the disciplines of philosophy, religious studies, and anthropology, trains you in the skills of critical thinking, written and oral communication, and empathetic engagement with diverse worldviews, cultures, ethical systems and religions. The training we offer equips you with the skills needed for a wide variety of professional careers and with the ability to adapt to the inevitable changes and challenges that you will face after graduation.

Dr. Karin Fry has been awarded the College of Letters and Science Faculty and Program Development Grant to do research in the Hannah Arendt archives at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Congratulations, Karin!  

 

Upcoming Events
 

The Department of Philosophy is proud to announce that we will be hosting the 2015 meeting of the Wisconsin Philosophical Association. The conference will take place on April 11, 2015 and be held in the Dreyfus University Center. The WPA is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.
