From cell culture to quantitative analysis, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty instill career-ready skills with state-of-the-art instrumentation. Our majors find employment in genetic testing, chemistry analysis, medical research, technical services, microbiology, chemical engineering, and many other scientific fields. The success of our students is a tribute to the effectiveness of our program. About 35 percent of our graduates go on to earn advanced degrees.

MAKE DISCOVERIES

UWSP students get early opportunities in research projects, guided by a faculty mentors. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty regularly collaborate with students and publish research in academic journals. Undergraduates are encouraged to get involved, develop new knowledge, and to grow their skills as scientists.

UWSP faculty are committed to providing professional-level experiences in our labs. Students are provided sound methods in the lab, using powerful instrumentation. Our faculty offices are located in the Haeni Chemistry Biology Building.
