Strengthen Your Community

Bringing together the disciplines of Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Political Science, Geography and Geology, the UW-Stevens Point School of Behavioral and Social Sciences prepares students for a wide variety of careers. Graduates of the school possess strong research and writing skills, are problem solvers, and have well-developed higher-level thinking ability. Our graduates are ready to make a difference in their communities, in human service agencies, healthcare providers, in school systems, and in government and law.

CSWE Accreditation in Social Work

Social Work at UWSP provides students the opportunities to practice what they have learned, in partnership with organizations across the state. Our CWSE-accredited program makes students eligible for advanced standing if they choose to pursue a master’s degree in social work. Our faculty prepare students to work as ethical, evidence-informed community leaders.

Alumni to Know

Erin Cimino ’16 Alum

Psychology undergraduates gain a deep understanding in the social sciences. ’16 Alumna Erin Cimino, MS, LPC, remembers feeling supported academically and personally by her many mentors at UWSP. She had a wide range of experiential learning, interning in a school setting, at a health care center, working with older adults and with college-age peers on campus. “It helped me grow into the person I am today. They modeled every day how to be accepting and open-minded, supportive of people,” she said.
