College of Professional Studies

Welcome to UWSP's College of Professional Studies.

Established in 1970, the College of Professional Studies (CPS) houses the two oldest UWSP academic programs: School of Education, with its origins in the early Education Degrees awarded in 1894 and the Domestic Sciences program, which has evolved into Dietetics, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Interior Architecture. The College today consists of eight academic units, which house 15 different undergraduate majors, 17 minors and six graduate programs, enrolling about 2880 undergraduates and 1,200 graduate and continuing education students. Job placement or advanced graduate study in professional fields for all majors is above 94 percent.

The academic units of the College are Business & Economics; Health Care Professions; Communicative Disorders; Education; Interior Architecture; Health, Exercise Science and Athletics; Health Promotion & Human Development; and Military Science. Most CPS programs are accredited by national accrediting bodies, including the American Dietetics Association, the National Wellness Institute, the National Council on Family Relations, the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences Association, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, the Commission on the Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education and the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science.

We invite you to explore our College and join us for a satisfying and rewarding future in one of our programs.
