WHY STUDY MUSIC AT UW-STEVENS POINT?
Students in music majors benefit from performing the classics of their literature. Recent performances include Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana,” Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring,” numerous works for Wind Band or Wind Ensemble by Frank Ticheli (with the composer on the podium in a guest residency), Beethoven’s “9th Symphony,” Brahm’s “German Requiem” and many others.
UW-Stevens Point’s music program has every student take a course in music composition. Many students continue composition studies and activities even when they had no previous composition experience.
