Introduction

Welcome to Energy Education: Concepts and Practices, an online module developed by the Wisconsin K-12 Energy Education Program (KEEP). We look forward to helping you learn more about the flow of energy through your life.

The module addresses energy concepts relating to energy definitions, natural laws of energy, energy flows in living and non-living systems, and their relationships to understanding and evaluating environmental issues. Module activities include the exploration of energy readings and pertinent websites, home activities such as reading utility bills, home energy audits, and calculating the wattages of various home appliances.

Goal: As a result of participating in this module, participants will gain fundamental knowledge about energy and appreciate the nature of energy in their everyday lives.

The content is open to the public, however, if you’d like to receive a certification of completion, you may register for it through the CNR Outreach Education registration system here. Successful completion of this online module satisfies the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s Environmental Education Stipulation.
