Program Facilities
UWSP students have access to state-of-the-art computer equipment for the facilitation of map production and geographic analyses. Our students are trained in the field with weather and climate studies, submeter GPS data collection, large scale urban mapping, and much more.
Department Scholarships
Scholarships in the Department of Geography and Geology can either require an application, submission of essay or poetry, or be granted by faculty nominations.
Research Projects
GIS Center faculty and staff engage in research opportunities that help enrich the GIS curriculum and provides solutions to challenging spatial problems. GIS Center research also provides our students with life experiences only obtained by working on real-world problems first-hand.

Center for the Small City
The Center for the Small City focuses on small cities, towns, and rural areas within micropolitan areas, (settlements with fewer than 50,000 people.) CSC sponsors a biennial national conference that brings academics, small city elected officials and staff together to discuss the development, needs, and problems affecting small cities.
