One of the hallmarks of the School of Biology, Chemistry, and Biochemistry is our commitment to faculty-mentored undergraduate research. A high percentage of our students participate in laboratory and field research projects with faculty mentors. Many students also spend the summer conducting research at UW-Stevens Point and at a variety of cooperating institutions.

“The biggest takeaway is the ability to conceptualize the research into what is known, what is not known, what I have done, and how my research fits into what is not known. This is the core of scientific hypotheses testing. Research at UWSP taught me critical thinking, problem solving, and helped me improve my communication”
