Meet Our Team!

The UWSP Museum of Natural History offers several positions to undergraduate students in a variety of academic and professional fields. Employment at the Museum is a prearranged learning opportunity under the supervision of a Museum staff member.

Outreach Specialist

Brigid Ferkett

Brigid Ferkett is the Outreach Specialist for the Olson Museum of Natural History at UW–Stevens Point, a role she has held since 2023. Her professional background includes work in libraries, elementary schools, nature centers, and other community-focused educational spaces. At the museum, Brigid supervises students and employees to create outreach programming. She is also playing a role in the redesign of the entire museum! Brigid loves talking about science and spending time in nature. Brigid enjoys meeting new people, listening to their stories, and learning alongside them. Brigid is also a beginner Spanish learner and hopes to someday talk about the natural world en Espanol.

 
Museum Educator

Addilyn Seep

Addilyn joined the museum staff in spring 2024 as a museum educator. She is a sophomore Biology major. She is originally from Eau Claire, Wis. She wanted to work for the museum once again to see children engage with the activities she helps organize.  “The most rewarding part of my role is to create fun activities about the world of natural history for a variety of ages,” she said.

Leah Rose

Leah joined the museum staff in fall 2024 as a first-year Wildlife Ecology and Management major. She is originally from Marinette, Wis. Leah said she has a passion for making science accessible and interesting to everyone.

Brett Everman

Brett has worked for the museum as a docent since June 2015. He is a native of Stevens Point and 2013 SPASH graduate. Brett brings the UWSP Museum of Natural History to life with his stories and sound effects that are programmed into his Tobii Dynavox Communication device. He looks forward to seeing you on a scheduled tour!
