Several thousand rock, mineral, and fossil specimens are contained within our geological collection. Geology is the study of earth’s physical structure and substance, its history, and the processes that act on it. The curator of our collection is Dr. Samantha Kaplan. Kaplan’s current research interests are in the upper Midwest, the Everglades, palynology, paleoclimatology, paleolimnology, and dendroclimatology.
