Preparing to Transfer
Prospective transfer students should obtain a credit evaluation from the School of Education Advising, Recruitment and Retention Office in order to determine remaining coursework, Professional Education Program application requirements, and required assessments. To request a credit evaluation, please email the following information to email@example.com.
unofficial copies of transcripts from every university, college or technical school attended.*
a list of current courses
in the body of your email, please include your name, address, email address, phone number, and teaching major(s)/minor(s)
you wish to pursue.
*If UW-Stevens Point was the last/only institution you attended, you can provide us with your UWSP student ID number instead of providing transcripts.
Individuals who are unable to email the information can send materials to SOE Advising, Recruitment & Retention Office, 469 College of Professional Studies, Stevens Point, WI 54481.
Credit evaluation requests will be processed within two weeks of receipt. A School of Education adviser will provide prospective students with a summary of credits remaining, a curriculum planning sheet indicating courses already completed and Professional Education Program application materials. After reviewing the materials, prospective transfer students are strongly encouraged to meet with a School of Education adviser to review the credit evaluation and plan for the future. Appointments can be made by calling the School of Education Advising, Recruitment and Retention Office, 715-346-2040.
In addition to obtaining a free credit evaluation, prospective transfer students have access to program guides through the Transfer Information System (TIS). These guides provide planning sheets with course equivalencies for UW Colleges, Nicolet College, and Wisconsin Technical Colleges.
There is nothing quite like a campus visit. It is the best way to discover why so many students think UW-Stevens Point is the ideal fit. Campus visits can be scheduled through the Office of Admissions
. Prospective transfer students who have completed a credit evaluation are also encouraged to meet with a School of Education adviser during their visit to campus. Adviser visits can be scheduled by calling the School of Education Advising, Recruitment and Retention Office, 715-346-2040.

These orientations begin in April for fall admission and November for spring admission. Students are strongly encouraged to apply, pay the deposit and attend the earliest Orientation session possible.
At Transfer Orientation, students majoring in early childhood, elementary education, physical education and special education will be advised by an adviser in the School of Education.
