 Applying to Student Teach

Student Teacher

Applications for student teaching are made in the first month of the semester preceding student teaching. Attendance is required at an Application Meeting at which the process is explained and important information presented. These meetings are announced by email. Dates and deadlines surrounding this process are critical to assure the success of securing appropriate placements.

  • CastleBranch Background Check
    • If you completed a background check through the Department of Children and Families (DCF), that included fingerprints, you might use this in place of the CastleBranch check. You will be required to submita copy of your DCF Letter of Eligibility with your application.
  • Student Teaching Application Link
  • TB Test
    • Schedule an appointment with University Health Services or your own health care provider
  • Fee Acknowledgement Form

Important information to consider/complete, as needed:

 Student Teaching Seminar

All students must be enrolled in a student teaching seminar during their student teaching/internship experience. Attendance at on-campus meetings is required. The edTPA is discussed during this time, and a final capstone presentation will be required at the last seminar.
