The University of Wisconsin System requires that each UW System institution provide a “comprehensive and intensive re-examination of all academic programs” on a regular basis. The university fulfills this obligation through the Department Review Subcommittee, which resides under the Faculty Senate’s Academic Affairs Committee.
Academic programs are reviewed on a five-year cycle according to the Program Review Cycle, which can be viewed through the link to the right. The guidelines for completing the Program Review Self-Study and other information concerning the review process can be found in Chapter 7, Section 3 of the University Handbook.
