About Us

The Wisconsin Forestry Center is an outreach center within the College of Natural Resources at University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, supported in part by the UW–Madison Division of Extension. The center is dedicated to serving Wisconsin’s forestry community through collaboration, education, and outreach.

The Wisconsin Forestry Center works with partners across the state to support professional development, workforce recruitment and training, applied research, and community outreach initiatives. Through these efforts, the center helps strengthen sustainable forestry practices, connect communities with natural resource opportunities, and support the future of Wisconsin’s forest industry.

New Podcast: Wood & Iron – For Loggers. By Loggers.

Wood & Iron delivers a grounded, practical podcast developed by and for those in the logging industry. Featuring voices from across the United States, each episode brings forward real-world insights designed to support a resilient and sustainable logging workforce.

Recent episodes highlight the depth and variety of experiences across the industry.

Produced by the WFC, the podcast is hosted by Jared Schroeder, WFC’s High School Program Manager, and Blake Manley, Executive Director of the Western Forestry and Conservation Association and Creator/Host of Manley Jobs.
