Financial Planning and Budget

MISSION

To plan and manage the campus’ available financial resources as efficiently and effectively as possible and to forecast revenues and expenditures as accurately as possible to optimize financial resource allocation and utilization in support of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point mission.

To fulfill this mission, the Financial Planning and Budget Office will:

Provide financial planning and decision-making support through data reporting, analyzing, and forecasting.
Be the resource for personnel across campus for budget related information and questions.
Prepare and submit required budget data as requested from System Administration and legislators.
Ensure that campus budgetary policy and practice conform to Federal, State, System and University regulations.

Budget 101

This UWSP short course on how to understand budgets, gain updates on current processes and meet the Financial Planning and Budget team.
More information will be shared vial Message of the Day (MOD) in early fall about the session.
If you are a new to a position that works with budgets in your department or division, please contact us and we can set up a time to meet for individualized welcome to the budgeting process.

How to Find Courses in Workday for finance and other trainings:

Login to Workday.
Click the Learning app from the Menu.
Click Browse Learning Content and search for classes.
Select the courses.

BUDGET AMENDMENTS

Budget amendments in Workday are what was formerly known as budget transfers, which were previously initiated through the One Time Budget Transfer E-Form.
