Mead Wildlife Area Spring Hayride

Enjoy the beauty of spring in central Wisconsin! A hay-wagon ride allows people to explore the George W. Mead Wildlife Area in ways​ unavailable on foot. The wagon will take attendees to special areas at the Mead to experience natural habitats. Learn how the Mead is using forest management practices to maximize wildlife populations. May is a wonderful time to experience songbird migration at the Mead. The wagon will stop for photography and interpretation. There will be so​me opportunity to hike. Trail conditions can be unpredictable and trail surfaces may be uneven. Dress for the weather and bring your binoculars, or request binoculars during registration.

Jennifer Summers

Program Development Specialist, Wisconsin Center for Wildlife

Jennifer Summers is a program development specialist at the Wisconsin Center for Wildlife​ (WCW) at UW-Stevens Point. She enjoys sharing her knowledge about wildlife and natural resources. Jennifer earned both a master of natural resources (wildlife ecology) and a bachelor of science in wildlife ecology at UW-Stevens Point. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys photographing birds and drawing and painting wildlife.
