SNAP

The classes are for young children of all abilities accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children gain an initial positive water experience, learn safety skills in and around water and just have fun.

Session 1  (4 weeks)
Mondays: March 25-April 15
Thursdays: March 28-April 18

Session 2 (4 weeks)
Mondays: April 22-May 13
Thursdays: April 25-May 16

Four weeks of class sessions will be held:
  • Infant/Toddler
    • 5:15-5:45 p.m.
  • Preschool
    • 5:45-6:15 p.m.
Each session costs $40. The 30-minute classes are held in the therapeutic pool in Marshfield Clinic Health System Champions Hall (formerly Health Enhancement Center), located adjacent to the Quandt Fieldhouse on Fourth Avenue. All are led by a trained water safety instructor who is a student at UW-Stevens Point.

SNAP

Infant & Toddler Class (9-36 months)

Infants and parents will be exposed to water adjustment activities, be introduced to appropriate water safety skills and learn supported movements.

Toddlers and parents will practice water adjustment activities, elementary propulsive aquatic movements and learn water safety skills.

Terapeutic pool: limit 10 children/class

Fall Sessions 2018 (
5:50-6:20 p.m.):
  1. Mondays: Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Nov. 5, Nov. 12, Nov. 19
  2. Thursdays: Oct. 25, Nov. 1, Nov. 8, Nov. 15, Nov. 29

Preschool Class with Parent (3-5 years)

Preschoolers and parents will experience independent propulsive swimming movements, participate in advanced water adjustment activities, learn water safety skills and practice combined skills for basic swimming strokes in preparation for Level 1 Swimming Progression.

Terapeutic pool: limit 8 children/class
Fall Sessions 2018 (6:30-7 p.m.):
  1. Mondays: Oct. 22, Oct. 29, Nov. 5, Nov. 12, Nov. 19
