Application Process
We are pleased that you are considering applying to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD).
UWSP offers a Master of Science (M.S.) degree with specialization in speech-language pathology and is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). UWSP has a 100% pass rate for the PRAXIS exam in speech-language pathology and 100% of our graduates are employed within a few months of graduation. We are proud to offer face-to-face instruction in a wide variety of courses covering topics across the ASHA “Big 9,” as well as specialty areas such as cleft palate, AAC, and cognitive communication. Acceptance into a graduate program in speech-language pathology is competitive. Below you will find data on the incoming Fall 2026 cohort to help you learn a little more about us:
- Overall GPA: 3.7; In-major/CSD GPA: 3.7
- We do not require the GRE

Application Instructions
International Applicants: Do not apply via CSDCAS. Please see separate instructions for international applicants at Apply – University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (uwsp.edu)
U.S. Applicants: There is a two-step process to apply to UWSP. You must apply both through CSDCAS and directly to UWSP.
Read the following instructions carefully.
- Complete the application for the master’s program in speech-language pathology at UW-Stevens Point via CSDCAS beginning Aug. 15, 2026. Be prepared to upload your essay answers to the following prompts.
We find that initiative, curiosity, resilience, critical thinking, and a growth mindset help students find success in our graduate program. How have you specifically demonstrated two of the above attributes? Limit your response to 550 words.
What was your favorite collegiate class (non-major or elective) and why? How does that impact your approach to your graduate education or clinical practice? Limit your response to 550 words. - Submit all official transcripts and three letters of recommendation (we suggest at least two from a CSD professor and/or clinical supervisor) to CSDCAS. We must see your fall 2026 grades on your transcript to process your application. The address to send your official transcripts to CSDCAS is: CSDCAS Verification Department, P.O. Box 9113, Watertown, MA 024712. IMPORTANT: Do not send any application materials directly to the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at UWSP.
**We do not require the submission of GRE score reports. - If you are admitted to our program, you will apply for graduate study at UWSP via the UW online application and pay the application fee. You do not need to submit a separate transcript to UWSP at this time. If you are accepted as a graduate student, you will need to submit a transcript that shows your conferred degree.
For your application to be considered, you must complete and submit applications on both the CSDCAS site and the UW online site by Jan. 15, 2027 (at the latest). It is important to send materials as soon as possible after Aug. 15, 2026 to ensure transcripts and payments are received and processed by the deadline. Applicants are responsible for meeting all the deadline requirements. If an applicant does not submit all materials prior to the deadline, we will not process the application.
