Whether you’re looking for a traditional residence hall experience, a quieter upper-level community, or apartment-style living, UWSP offers a variety of housing options designed to help you feel at home.

Since new students typically live in a traditional double-occupancy room, they are able to build connections and become part of a close-knit campus community. From the Allen Quad and DeBot Quads to Hyer Hall and the Suites@201, each community provides unique features, amenities, and opportunities to connect, grow, and thrive on campus.

Housing Styles

Most first-year students will live in a double-occupancy traditional residence hall. Students with more seniority on campus (typically 2+ years) may apply to live in the Suites@201. Hyer Hall is single-occupancy and for students who are 21 and older at the start of classes.

Traditional Halls

Double Occupancy

The eight residence halls on the west of campus, near the DeBot Dining Center, are known as the North and South DeBot Quads. These halls include elevators, air conditioning, and in-room temperature control.

On the east side of campus, the Allen Quad does not include these features, with the exception of elevators in Pray-Sims Hall. Most halls use a scattered co-ed housing model. In Pray-Sims Hall, Pray houses men and Sims houses women.

Suites@201

2+ Years out of High School

The Suites@201 offers apartment-style living with the convenience of being on campus and added independence. It is designed for students who graduated from high school at least two years ago. The Suites@201 is located near Schmeeckle Reserve and student parking lot Q.

Each suite includes four private bedrooms, a full kitchen, a furnished living room, and a three-part bathroom. Suites can be single-sexed or gender-neutral.

Hyer Hall

21+ Years Old

Hyer Hall, located on the south-east corner of campus, offers a quieter, more independent living option for upper-level and non-traditional students who are 21+ by the first day of classes. Students live in single rooms and may choose to opt out of the meal plan.

As a designated quiet community, residents must sign a Quiet Community Agreement during the application process.

Hyer Hall

Allen Quad

Hyer Hall is a specialty residence hall located on the south side of campus, within walking distance of Old Main and parking lot W. Available to students who are 21 or older before the start of the fall semester, Hyer offers single-room occupancy in a scattered-gender room configuration with designated men’s and women’s restrooms by floor. Students living in Hyer may also choose to opt out of a meal plan.

Pray-Sims Hall

Allen Quad

Pray-Sims Hall is a traditional-style residence hall that is located near the Champions Hall.  Pray-Sims Hall is within walking distance of Schmeeckle Reserve and student parking lot Q. Pray-Sims is actually two residence halls joined together by an elevator. Sims Hall houses female-identifying rooms while Pray Hall houses male-identifying rooms.
