By open invitation to all UWSP School of Design & Communication students, this annual exhibition celebrates the work of our burgeoning artists in the disciplines of Art, Graphic Design, Interior Architecture, Media Studies, and Professional Communication.

This year the show is juried by two renown Wisconsin-based artists, curators, critics, publishers, scholars, and educators. Brad Killam is a professor at College of DuPage. Michelle Grabner is a professor at the Art Institute of Chicago.

This annual capstone experience offers graduating UWSP Integrative Studio Arts majors the opportunity to exhibit their exemplary work. Curated by a faculty committee, the collective of these seven distinct voices reflects their maturation as young artists prepared to embark on an exciting new phase of their lives. We celebrate the work of Mackenzie Biadasz, Sara Boughton, Adeline Buechel, Tessa Rudig, Sophia Sperduto, Brooke Way, and PaChoua Yang.

Embodied

Embodied is a curated collection of documented performance art and experimental video in which the body is the central unifying factor. This collection of work explores how identities, emotions, and experiences are all perceived within the human body while concurrently being expressed and understood by the outside world. Each artist’s body makes up the content of the work while simultaneously the artist is experiencing the work while it is being made.

This duality of creation while consuming parallels the capabilities and limitations that exist within our own human bodies. This collection of video work explores of how the human body acts as vessels for our identity to reside.
