Minor

This minor is administered by the area of Media Studies in the School of Design and Communication.

If you are interested in declaring a media studies minor, you must meet with a media studies adviser. Contact the School of Design and Communication office to make an appointment.

Consists of a minimum of 18 credits.

Required, 9 credits

• MSTU 105 – Foundations of Media Practice: Time, Motion, and Video Credits: 3
• MSTU 106 – Foundations of Criticism: Understanding Media Credits: 3
• MSTU 107 – Foundation of Media Writing Credits: 3

Electives, 9 credits

Of the 9 credits, 6 credits must be 300-level or above. Choose any combination of the following:

• 9 credits of MSTU courses
• REL 350 – Religion and Film Credits: 3
• FLNG 252 – Media Arts in World Cultures Credits: 3 (subtitle: Bad Chicks in Foreign Flicks)
