​Augmentative and Alternative Communication Program


 
The UW-Stevens Point Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic provides both diagnostic and intervention services for individuals who have complex communication needs resulting from the following conditions:

Adults with acquired disorders: Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS), Parkinson's, MS, Stroke, Primary Progressive Aphasia, Traumatic Brian Injury, Huntington's Disease, etc.

Children and adults with developmental disorders: Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Cognitive Disabilities, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, etc.

Our extensive Augmentative and Alternative Communication Lab provides individuals with the opportunity to match their communication and accessing needs with a variety of both high tech, light tech and low tech AAC systems. Graduate students, under the supervision of our clinical staff, gain experience with both AAC assessment and intervention.
