LEARN TO DESIGN AN ARRAY OF INTERIOR SPACES
The mission of the Interior Architecture (IA) program is to prepare interior designers who are globally aware citizens and leaders in community development, proficient in creating aesthetically, socially, culturally, and environmentally responsible interiors. The focus is on the ability to design quality interior environments that contribute to the well-being and safety of individuals and groups along with incorporating a concern for the environmental well-being of the earth, including sustainable design. The visionary, conceptual, exploratory and analytical abilities of students in the Interior Architecture program are developed through studies in liberal arts and sciences and professional design preparation. The purpose is to graduate professional interior designers who are able to synthesize knowledge and who are able to creatively solve problems for a wide range of physical interior environments, including residential and commercial, and for a diverse group of users.
As an interior architecture student at UW-Stevens Point, you will engage in an exciting, yet extensive, professional training, designing an array of interior spaces ranging from residential homes to corporate office to multiuse spaces such as a senior living facility. In addition, this four-year curriculum is carefully formulated to teach you design history, design communication and drawing, socio-cultural aspects of design, technology and sustainable design.
