IT Purchasing
Information Technology coordinates the purchasing of computers, tablets, printers, Info Tech-related accessories, and software for UWSP business use. All technology purchases at UWSP are reviewed to ensure adherence to all conditions related to State of Wisconsin contracts.

Information Security
The Information Security Office (ISO) safeguards the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems, identity, and data assets here at UWSP.
The ISO works with university departments to help develop responsible information security procedures and practices that align with the design and direction of UWSP’s Information Security Program.
You can help protect UWSP’s network and data by reporting information security-related concerns and incidents, and suspected phishing attempts to the ISO. For confidentiality, you can also directly email the Information Security Office.

Immediately Report Lost or Stolen Devices and Data
Protect Your Laptop, Tablet, and other Mobile Devices From Theft to Prevent Loss of Sensitive Data.
- Do not leave devices unattended or left alone in a car for long periods of time.
- Keep your devices close and visible at all times. Make sure to set auto-lock on mobile devices and lock your laptop screen whenever you step away.
- Do not store or carry printed reports that contain sensitive information in any carryng case or bag including purses, briefcases, backpacks, and laptop bags.
Contact the IT Service Desk at HELP@uwsp.edu | (715) 346-HELP (4357) AND UWSP Police and Security Services at (715) 715-346-3456 to report loss or theft of any of the following:
- Any University device such as laptops, smartphones and tablets.
- Any personal device you use to access your College email and documents.
- Your UWSP PointCard or other assigned door access card.
- Any printed reports that contain any High Risk data as identified through the University of Wisconsin’s Data Classifications.
