About Our Summer Programs

The Upward Bound Summer Programs offer two distinct experiences for students at different stages of their academic journey. For incoming freshmen, there is the Freshman Focus program which is a one-week session designed to help them transition to high school. For students who will be sophomores to seniors in the upcoming academic year, there is the Summer Session which spans five weeks and takes place on the UW-Stevens Point campus. During the Summer Session, students participate in engaging courses that help prepare them for their future academic and career pursuits. They also get to enjoy fun field trips and activities that foster teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. Moreover, students get to live in the residence halls, eat in our dining facility, and all program costs are covered, making it a truly immersive experience. Both programs provide a supportive and stimulating learning environment for students to thrive!

Upon arrival at the UWSP campus, please park your vehicle in Lot P located on Isadore Street (see enclosed map). Parking is free on the weekends. Please do not unload your vehicle. Next, students and a parent/guardian will proceed to the Health Office to review health forms and collect any medications brought to campus. Families have the option of moving their vehicle to the unloading circle drive (marked with a * on the campus map)  to help make unloading their vehicle easier. However, vehicles can only unload with flashers on and then will need to re-park their vehicle in Lot P. Residence Hall staff will be on hand to help families move belongings into the students’ rooms.

Once students have settled into their assigned residence hall room, we ask that families say their good-byes. Staff will then take over and direct students to the basement  to participate in group activities.
