MISSION, VISION, & VALUES
The Critical Thinking Center (CTC) exists to support the teaching, learning, and practice of critical thinking in classrooms, workplaces, and communities.
The CTC’s vision is to help see a world in which critical thinking is intentionally taught, consciously learned, and purposefully practiced.
The core values in seeing this vision through include curiosity, clarify, comprehension, and cooperation.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is the critical thinking work at UWSP restricted to courses in the general education program?
A: Absolutely not. Courses at all levels of the curriculum are more than welcome. Courses specific to major programs can help us to get clearer about how critical thinking is practiced in different areas, and that helps us to see connections between disciplines and to appreciate what every part of the curriculum has to offer.
Q: Is the critical thinking work at UWSP focused in the College of Letters and Science?
A: Absolutely not. We welcome participation from every college because every academic area has an important perspective and skill set to contribute.
