Program participants acquire abilities to teach content both in English and another language (either Spanish or Hmong). You will only be awarded the certificate if you successfully complete the English as a Second Language Minor with K-12 Teacher Certification. The Bilingual-Bicultural Education Certificate is only a few additional credits to acquire. It is administered by the Department of World Languages and Literatures.

This newly approved license allows a teacher to teach 4-year old kindergarten through 9th grade. This program is only available for teachers already licensed to teach MC-EA ages 6-13 “Regular Education,” EC-MC ages 0-11 “Regular Education,” or grades 1-6, 1-8, K-6 or K-8. This newly approved license at UW-Stevens Point allows a teacher to teach 4-year old kindergarten through 9th grade.
