WASTE AND RECYCLING

The University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point has long worked towards waste reduction and diversion.  We have run an award-winning recycling program since 1989, however, we recognize the need to move towards a zero-waste campus by reducing, reusing, recycling and composting at an even greater level than we have in the past.

We are continually looking for new ways to reduce our waste - for example, for the past three years, UWSP has distributed the City of Stevens Point annual Water Quality Report to campus via online announcements.  This has eliminated the need for the city to print and mail 4,000 color copies of a DNR required water report to UWSP residential students.
