Residency Requirement

The UW Board of Regents' live-on campus requirement was waived for the 2020-21 school year. This policy will be reinstated for the 2021-22 academic school year

All freshman and sophomore students are required to live on campus. At UW-Stevens Point, we define this as students who are out of high school for two years or less. For the full policy and additional information, please check out our website here

Students living with a parent/legal guardian and commuting from within a 40-mile radius of Stevens Point, are allowed to live off-campus (completion of the commuter statement by the student and parent is required).

If students are not eligible to live off-campus for the 2021-22 school year and they sign an off-campus lease, an academic hold will be placed on their student record and they will NOT be able to drop/add/register for classes until they have resolved their fulfillment with the UW Board of Regents' on-campus living requirement.

We would like to recognize that the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point occupies the lands of the Ho-Chunk and Menominee people. Please take a moment to acknowledge and honor this ancestral Ho-Chunk and Menomonee land, and the sacred lands of all indigenous peoples.
