Residency Requirement

The UW Board of Regents' live-on campus requirement was waived for the 2020-21 school year. This policy will be reinstated for the 2021-22 academic school year

UWSP Residential Living follows the UW Board of Regents' live-on requirement. This means that students are required to live on campus their first two years (freshman and sophomore) after their high school graduation. For more information regarding the policy, commuting requests, and exceptions to the policy, please view the full live-on requirement here

Exceptions to the Board of Regents' Policy must be met prior to the fall semester, as the housing contract is a binding contract for one full academic term. As such, it cannot be terminated due to reaching an exception milestone during the academic year (age, high school graduation date of two years).
