UW-Stevens Point’s Anderson Classroom to Career Center, a resource for students in the School of Business and Economics, was commended in the school’s reaccreditation by AACSB.

The School of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point has again earned accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), an achievement earned by only 5 percent of the world’s schools offering business degrees at the bachelor’s level or higher.

“AACSB accreditation is very significant for the School of Business and Economics,” said Kevin Neuman, head of the school. “Successfully extending our accreditation reaffirms the high quality of our programs and validates the growth and continuous improvement of the school.”

Achieving reaccreditation is a rigorous process with an AACSB-assigned mentor and peer-review over several years. UW-Stevens Point’s peer review team, comprised of three business deans from universities across the country, evaluated and commended UW-Stevens Point’s School of Business and Economics, highlighting:

  • The Anderson Classroom to Career Center as “an exemplary program” that provides multi-dimensional outreach and impacts all students in the school dozens of times during their college career.
  • The school’s recent implementation of an internship requirement for all undergraduate students, providing opportunities for students to gain relevant and practical experience. It was also noted that a majority of the interns receive full-time job offers upon completion of their internship.
  • The school’s foresight in focusing their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program on the Wisconsin economy, which is paying dividends in terms of enrollment, visibility, social impact and graduate outcomes.

Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. AACSB accreditation is considered the hallmark of excellence in business education.

The UW-Stevens Point School of Business and Economics, first accredited by AACSB in 2017, has nearly 900 students taught by 25 full-time faculty and staff. It offers majors in accounting, business administration, business economics, data analytics, finance, management and marketing as well as the MBA in applied leadership and decision-making. Students at UW-Stevens Point campuses in Marshfield and Wausau are also offered four-year business administration degrees.
