Emeritus Professor of Philosophy Scott Davison of Morehead State University explores the ways we say goodbye in “Practicing Farewell” on Oct. 21.

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point School of Humanities and Global Studies invites the public to examine times of parting and the various farewells we all make in life.

Guest lecture “Practicing Farewell” will be presented on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m., featuring emeritus professor of philosophy Dr. Scott Davison of Morehead State University. The event will be held in the UWSP Haeni Chemistry Biology Building, Room 101, at 2101 Fourth Ave., Stevens Point. The event is free and open to the public.

As life changes, we find ourselves saying farewell to people, places, activities and things. What makes a farewell successful? Davison will discuss ways in which saying farewell opens up appreciation for the present.

In addition to the public lecture, Davison will meet with Department of Philosophy capstone students.
