Support for the arts in Marshfield
Renovations at the UWSP at Marshfield’s Helen Connor Laird Fine Arts Building will ensure that the community has a central hub for theatre, music and art in years to come – all due to the work of local legislators and administrators from Wood County, the city of Marshfield, the Laird Endowment for the Arts, the University of Wisconsin and UW-Stevens Point who joined together to get a Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation grant.
Honoring a legacy through education
After nearly six decades of supporting students and youth across Wisconsin, the Laird Youth Leadership Foundation is closing its chapter with a $1.25 million gift to the UW-Stevens Point Foundation. Learn how the gift will strengthen scholarships and awards for future Pointers while carrying forward Melvin R. Laird’s longstanding belief in the power of education.
