The music performance major offers University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point students intensive training with a world-class faculty in state-of-the-art facilities. The program, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, offers a solid core of music study including music theory/musicianship, music history and literature, applied performance study and large-ensemble participation.

Students can also be involved in music law, journalism, or merchandising; music-related software development; or management of artists or artistic organizations. Many choose to continue their studies in a graduate program.
Get Involved on Campus
Students in the music majors benefit from performance of the classics. Recent performances include Carl Orff’s "Carmina Burana," Stravinsky’s "Rite of Spring," Beethoven’s "9th Symphony" and "Brahms’ Requiem." Performance majors also perform major solo repertoire on recitals in their junior and senior years. Students benefit directly by working with guest artists in master classes.
