Biography

Dr. Troy L. Seppelt has served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students at UW-Stevens Point since 2014 and worked professionally in higher education since 1999 at public and private universities and colleges. Prior to UW-Stevens Point, Dr. Seppelt served as Director of Residence Life at Colorado Mesa University and Assistant/Associate Director for Housing and Residence Life at Gustavus Adolphus College (Minnesota).

The Assistant Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students (AVC/DOS) serves as deputy to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs in support of divisional goals and the mission of the institution. The AVC/DOS is also responsible for creating collaborative, student-centered partnerships across campus and broader community. The position oversees the Office of the Dean of Students in administering the UW Code of Conduct for all reports of student academic and non-academic misconduct, campus care processes and teams, coordinating AODA and interpersonal violence prevention, and supporting student mental health promotion efforts. The role also chairs the Threat Assessment Team, is a Deputy Title IX Coordinator, serves as a member of the Emergency Operations Committee, and on the Clery Compliance Committee. The position has budget oversight of forty professional staff across multiple units. Supervision and direct reports include the Directors for Student Health Service and the Counseling Center, Program Director for the Center for Prevention and Health Promotion, Associate Dean of Students overseeing student support response, and Assistant Dean of Students for conduct, and the Associate Director of the Office for Culture and Student Development.
