Stevie Pointer

Hi there! I’m Stevie Pointer, UW-Stevens Point’s favorite four-legged mascot and your official (and highly enthusiastic) help desk recruiter! I’ve got a degree in professional communication from UWSP and a loyalty record that dates all the way back to 1894! Born and raised in central Wisconsin, Stevens Point has always had my pawprint on it. You’ll spot me around campus rocking purple and gold, hyping up our Pointers from move-in day to graduation day! If you see me on campus, call my name, and I’ll come running faster than you can say “Pointer pride” for a photo! I can’t wait to meet you, show you around and maybe even convince you to stay awhile!

Piece of advice: Remember it is always a great day to be a Pointer! Roll Dawgs!

What he wanted to be growing up: A mascot.

What he enjoys about UWSP: Taking long dog walks through campus and the surrounding community. UW-Stevens Point offers a variety of outdoor activities year-round including hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing, making it easy for dogs to stay active.

Favorite place on campus and why:
The new UW-Stevens Point Library and Student Resource Center, because it offers a convenient one-stop shop for academic and student success resources and a cozy place to curl up on a couch with a good book!

Campus/Community Involvement: Volunteers being a mascot at various campus and community events including Preview Day, Admitted Student Day, Commencement, Convocation, Day of Giving and many more! You may even see him in the local Stevens Point Independence Day or Holiday Parade in downtown Stevens Point.
