What is This Program About?

Our courses offer a deep dive into the human experience, professional growth, and the evolving role of technology in our lives. Explore how emotions, biases, and personal experiences influence decision-making, both in everyday interactions and professional practice. Learn to navigate ethical dilemmas, set boundaries, and foster trust and accountability in client, peer, and workplace relationships.

Through interactive workshops, reflective exercises, and real-world case scenarios, participants develop skills in communication, conflict resolution, and ethical decision-making. We also examine the impact of technology, including emerging artificial intelligence, on society, relationships, and professional practice. Whether enhancing self-awareness, improving team dynamics, or preparing for future challenges, these courses provide insight, strategies, and tools to make informed, ethical, and empathetic decisions in both personal and professional contexts.

These Courses have been approved for 4 CEUs from NASW

Ethics & Boundaries: Embracing the Gray in Social Work Practice

June 19, 2026 | 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CT | Virtual via Zoom

Boundaries have been blurred, the landscape of our professional practice has encroached upon our personal lives, and the relationships with our clients and colleagues have changed. Practice asks much of us by way of flexibility and adaptation; much of it to best serve our clients, but at what cost? Is virtual practice blending into your home life? Do you feel like the clear and rigid boundaries you once had created to protect dual relationships have crumbled or blurred? Have colleagues gotten a glimpse into your world via virtual space, perhaps sharing more than what seems comfortable? We will explore all the new gray areas in our practice and collegial spaces. Uniquely, participants in the session will provide examples of ethical dilemmas they have faced and will walk through the challenges to learn how to best embrace, or color the gray, to improve ethical decision making when circumstances arise.

1. Explore and learn how to apply an ethical decision-making model in everyday practice.

2. Discover the importance of focus; learning to be fully present and request what you need to maintain healthy boundaries with clients and colleagues.

3. Understand and apply varying forms of intelligence when setting healthy boundaries and setting ethical disputes.

4. Learn and understand the ‘Art of Listening in a Healing Way.’

5. Recognize and embrace the gray of personal decision making when ethical dilemmas are presented.

Registration Fee | $149 per Person

Ethics & Boundaries: Excuse Me, What Did You Say?

November 6, 2026 | 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. CT | Virtual via Zoom

Emotions impact the decisions we make including the ‘good,’ the ‘bad,’ and the ‘ugly’ influencers residing in the deep areas of our mind: heuristics. We claim not to be biased individuals but in reality, our underlying thoughts and emotions stem from preconceptions and lived experience. We will take a deep dive into the cognitive biases that subconsciously impact and potentially blind your decision-making capabilities in your role as a helper. We will explore how these biases affect your personal relationships, judgments of others, civil discourse, and respectful disagreement.

1. Explore and interpret personal cognitive biases that affect decision-making.

2. Learn techniques for respectfully disagreeing.

3. Explore and learn how to use civility when responding to discourse with colleagues and consumers.

4. Examine the narratives of our ‘one story’ we tell ourselves and learn to explore these biases for better relationships.

5. Use an ethical framework to solve complex, biased discourse in helping professions.

6. Understand professional boundaries and the importance of maintaining the dignity of human relationships.

Registration Fee | $149 per Person
