Set off on an unforgettable adventure along the Danube River aboard the MS PRINZESSIN KATHARINA, a stylish and comfortable river cruise ship built for both relaxation and discovery. As you drift past storybook castles, terraced vineyards, and timeless riverside villages, your days will alternate between peaceful cruising and energizing cycling excursions. Ride through Austria’s lush Wachau Valley, the scenic Schlögen Danube Loop, and the picturesque Hungarian countryside of the Danube Bend, uncovering hidden treasures at every turn. Blending culture, adventure, and comfort, this journey showcases some of Europe’s most enchanting destinations including Vienna, Budapest, and Bratislava. You will have plenty of time to explore, unwind, and soak in the magic of the Danube.

Trip Leaders

Annie wetter

Annie is a retired professor of nutrition at UW-Stevens Point and an experienced tour leader. Annie has explored many mountainsides, hiking throughout the Sierra Nevada, the Dolomites of Italy, the Rockies, and to the top of Mt. Whitney. She has backpacked in boots and on cross-country skis out West and has cycle toured with her husband through the low and highlands of Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Austria.  She also frequently visits family and friends in Hungary.  Annie led the New Zealand II 2014 tour, co-led the Mallorca cycling tour in 2002, two Grand Canyon rim-to-rim tours, as well as several study abroad trips to Austria through UWSP.   

Bill Fehrenbach

Bill has a long history with UWSP Adventure Tours. After participating in the Mallorca Bicycle Tour in 2011, he co-led the 2019 Danube River Trail Bike-Boat trip.  And this past June, he participated in the Rim-to-Rim Grand Canyon Hike.  Years ago, Bill led tours with a Michigan-based bicycle touring company.  He has also recently participated in a bike tour in Croatia. A life-long bicyclist, Bill is an advocate for civic bicycle-pedestrian programs.  He is also currently a Cycling Without Age volunteer pilot and a pilot trainer, having worked for the Wisconsin Bicycle Federation training trishaw pilots around the state. Bill is thrilled to return to Adventure Tours!​

Cancellation Policy

Since we make financial commitments in advance, no refunds will be issued for cancellations less than 90 days prior to the trip. Cancellations received more than 90 days before the trip will receive a full refund minus $500. However, you may send a substitute in your place. Please email us at uwspceweb@uwsp.edu to inform us of a cancellation or substitution.  ​​
