Fall 2020 COVID-19 Large Space Classroom Conversions

To accommodate mid-sized in-person courses while social distancing, campus has requested the College Support Team convert several large spaces into temporary classrooms:

Due to the unique technology needs for fall, the rooms temporary nature, as well as cost and labor constraints, these rooms will not adhere to our campus lecture hall or classroom standards. These rooms will feature:

  • Projector and projector screen (aspect ratio and resolution will vary)
    • Debot 053/055 will have a projector and flat-panel display displaying a duplicated image.
  • PC with Dual Monitors
    • One monitor is a Graphics Tablet Monitor with Active Stylus (mirrored to the projector)
  • Room Audio
  • Web Camera
  • Voice Capture Microphone
  • Voice Reinforcement Microphone
  • Wireless Presenter
  • Document Camera
    • The document camera will not be directly connected to the AV system. Instead, it will be connected to the teaching station computer for use with Zoom or Kaltura Capture.

These rooms will not have some standard features:

  • Guest device connectivity
  • DVD/Blu-ray playback
    • DUC 370 (Legacy Room) will have a DVD/Blu-Ray player, this player is not connected to the computer and cannot be used with Zoom or Kaltura Capture.
  • Marker or Chalk Boards
    • Sci A121 will have chalk boards, but their use is not recommended for use in hybrid courses.
