The Psychology Major is designed to provide a broad, yet thorough, understanding of the discipline of Psychology. All students begin by taking an introduction to the field, then learn the fundamentals of research methods and statistics.

After completing the Introduction to Psychology course, students have substantial freedom to explore the many areas of psychology.

Your online pathway to a BS in Psychology at UW-Stevens Point provides you the flexibility to start or complete your degree fully online with instructors who are highly interactive in the remote learning environment.

The Psychology: Human Services major is designed for students who may pursue bachelor's-level or advanced degree careers in human services-oriented field (e.g., counseling, clinical psychology, school psychology). The human services concentration focuses on developing the knowledge and skills necessary for counseling and behavioral modification.

Many students minor in Public Administration and Policy Analysis and also major or minor in Political Science. Political Science courses can be counted for both

The Race and Ethnicity minor provides a multi-disciplinary approach in which you gain skills and perspectives critical to thriving in diverse communities and workplaces. The minor includes many categories of the General Education Program, allowing you to pursue a distinct race and ethnicity track within the GEP.

Earning your reading specialist license will be a journey in which you can increase your own expertise, ground your thinking in research and dedicate time to shape your initiatives to improve learning for students, K-12th grade. 

Strengthen content literacy in the classroom by becoming a reading teaching. Collaborate with teachers and advocate for reading needs of all K-12th grade students with this add-on.

Students in special education at UW-Stevens Point have a passion for working with people with disabilities and find it to be a rewarding career choice. The special education major is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program that focuses on the knowledge, skills and dispositions needed to teach children with special needs in the state of Wisconsin. Program completers are licensed in cross-categorical special education. Successful candidates in the program earn a bachelor's degree and Wisconsin teaching license in K-12 Cross Categorical Special Education. Our graduates are well prepared to engage students in inquiry, facilitate learning, develop curriculum and use student data to inform instruction.

The accelerated special education licensure program is ideal for those who have a non-teaching bachelor's degree and are either teaching special education with a license with stipulations (emergency license), or want a career change to impact students. The program is offered 100% online. Students earn an initial teaching licensure/certification for Cross Categorical Special Education K-12th grade
